How far from Portland area?

Beaver Creek Getaway is approximately 130 miles from Portland. It is usually a 3 hour drive.

What do we need to bring?

The house is completely outfitted. There are hair dryers in every bathroom, blankets, extra blankets, pillows, extra pillows, beautiful towels including the big thick beach kind, and sheets (of course). There is a kitchen full of nice dishes, mugs, wine glasses, utensils, pots and pans, and bowls. The house even has a selection of movies and CDs. You may need to bring a sweatshirt, a windbreaker, and a raincoat for seasonal weather, hiking shoes, and food.

What is available for us to do during our stay?

There is a lot to do in the area. There is the aquarium and the bay front shops in the Nye Beach as well as great places for coffee and wine tasting. The original Rogue Brewery is on the bayfront as well. At Mo's and other fish places you can buy fresh fish and bring it to the house for dinner. Close to the house there is a Japanese restaurant with sushi. We keep a book in the kitchen of the house that has information on several restaurants in the area.

You also may find that you just want to put your feet up and relax rather than drive to town. It is so peaceful and serene and relaxing, you may want to do nothing!!! There are games, books, movies, and music at the house for a fun night in.

How is cellular service?

There is NO cell phone access. Bring phone cards or use the honor system paying for calls from the house phone.

Is there interenet access in the house?

The house is equipped with wireless internet.

Is Beaver Creek Getaway easy to find?

Although it is tucked away, using the map and directions from this web site should make this getaway easy to find. It is recommended that you arrive by daylight. Some of the markers along between Newport and Beaver Creek Getaway can be difficult to see in the dark.
